Murnane Building Contractors, Inc., a 3rd generation family business, is growing its clientele, and we have an excellent opportunity for an Estimator to join our award-winning business in our Syracuse, NY office. The ideal candidates will have previous experience in construction, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. Our Estimator will:

  • Review and evaluate detailed cost estimates
  • Prepare estimates and purchase orders in detail for all products
  • Ensure timely completion of estimates
  • Understand scope of work to bid
  • Manage bid pricing from all vendors
  • Prepare cost analysis
  • Perform risk assessment
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors

Experience:

  • Strong understanding of Concrete, Masonry, Carpentry, Metal Framing and Drywall Construction
  • 1+ year estimating experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with, or quick ability to learn, estimating software, on-screen take-offs
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills
  • Well-organized and reliable
  • BSc/BA in engineering, construction, or relevant field

Work Location: Primarily work in the Syracuse office everyday with the ability to work from home when needed.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $100,000 (depending on experience) plus annual discretionary bonus
